David Ortiz wins Hank Aaron Award

CLEVELAND – David Ortiz always rose to the occasion in October.Wednesday night, the recent baseball retiree encountered one last brush with October greatness this month – only this one was not at all the type he was used to or planned for.Ortiz sat on a Progressive Field dais with Hank Aaron and accepted his second award named after Hammerin’ Hank as the best offensive performer in the American League.That he had to return to Cleveland, where a World Series is being played without him and the Red Sox, who fell, hard, to this Indians team made for a somewhat bittersweet return trip here.
